Ultrasonic Distance SensorsWhatever your tank or storage container depth and profile, SSI probably has an ultrasonic fluid level sensor for you. Our fluid level sensors use ultrasonic technology to generate a high-frequency sound wave to measure the time for the echo to reflect off of the target and return to the fluid level sensor. The distance from the fluid level sensor to the fluid is calculated based on the speed of sound and the profile programmed into the fluid level sensor.
- Ultrasonic fluid level sensors are more accurate than resistive float senders, reed-switch tube sensors, or capacitive tube senders.
- Programmable to allow for non-linear flexible tank profiling. Accurate level volume measurements are dependant on the shape and dimensions of your tank. Tank irregularities are handled by our software using tank strapping profiles.
- Chemically compatible with many liquids such as gasoline, ethanol, diesel fuel, oils, engine coolants, fresh water, waste water, urea (AdBlue)
- Non-contact fluid level sensors are more robust than 33 to 240 ohm resistive float senders, reed-switch tube sensors and capacitive tube senders.
- Operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C
